Apply for Aid

McMurry Online Degrees program is designed for adult students balancing the demands of work and family. Making the financial commitment to pursue your education can be a challenge and the Office of Financial Aid will assist you in obtaining the financial resources you may need.

Applying for Financial Aid

McMurry University participates in a number of federal and state financial aid programs. Eligible McMurry Online Degrees students may receive Pell Grants or Federal Education Loans, such as the Subsidized Stafford Loan and the Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, for courses offered by the program. Eligible Texas residents also may apply for the Texas Equalization Grant and the College Access Loan. Students may use state or federal aid to meet all or part of their college costs, provided they are taking at least 6 college credits per term. If additional aid is needed, students have the option to apply for private student loans as well.

To learn more about financial aid contact us at 325-793-4713 or at financialaid@mcm.edu. You may also visit our forms and resources page for additional information. View forms and resources.

To begin your financial aid application process, you will want to make sure that you have completed your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and included McMurry University as one of your colleges. Your financial aid eligibility will be determined based on the outcome of the FAFSA. You must be enrolled at least 6 hours during any given semester in order to be eligible for aid. All students who have successfully completed a FAFSA will be eligible for federal student loans if they have not already reached their maximum limit.

Maintaining Financial Aid Eligibility

In order for students to keep their financial aid eligibility, they must be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) within their programs. This means that students must be meeting the minimum GPA requirements, successfully completing at least 75% of the courses that they are taking, and must complete their program within 150% of the programs required hours. This means that if a program is determined to take 120 hours to complete, the student is eligible for student aid for up to 180 hours. Review the SAP requirements.
